Kojima is a town at the southern end of Kurashiki City, located in the southern part of Okayama Prefecture.

Originally an island, it became a peninsula in the late Edo period due to land reclamation that began in the Sengoku period.

Kojima, a reclaimed land, was not suitable for rice cultivation, so the main production was cotton instead.

The techniques of weaving and sewing cotton were used to make tabi socks, school uniforms, and work clothes, and then jeans, which had not yet been produced in Japan, and now Kojima is attracting attention from both inside and outside Japan.

Kojima has flexibly changed to meet needs, and is fully equipped with the environment for weaving, dyeing, sewing, and processing necessary for clothing production. SETTO was born, grew, and is still growing there.
